1st Playtest Reflection and Implementation
After reviewing the feedback that we received, there are some changes that we have decided to make and will be more aware of moving forward. First off, we would like to give more context to the player by adding a backstory to the game as a precursor. We are thinking of implementing this by adding a simple cut scene before the game starts with a letter from the player's Grandpa. Additionally, we were given feedback that the level might need more decorations or items to fill it out as the objects are too easily discoverable and therefore limits the player's ability to explore. We are hoping to add new assets to the scenery in order to fix this issue as well as add UI to give the player feedback so they understand which objects are interactable. A cross or other UI element will also be added to the center of the screen so that the player can better understand where their mouse cursor is and how to navigate around the area. There are also some changes that need to be made to the colliders on the trees. By extending the fence around the entire level, we believe we can fix this issue. Finally, since some players might be more sensitive to the head bob the camera makes while walking, we would like to attempt to make this a smaller movement.
