Sound / Narrative Design (Karina)
Sound style references:
Animal crossing music is upbeat, yet calming as well. I think this style would fit well with the Summer of Tomatoes
Story overview:
The story is about a teenage boy visiting his grandfather over the summer. His grandfather owns a tomato farm, but as the years pass by he grows weaker and cannot work as much. The player will be playing as the grandson taking care of the tomato farm over the summer. Although the grandson offered to help his grandfather, he had no idea how hard it was to maintain the farm! He has to constantly run around to try to find all the items needed, while also making sure the bugs that randomly appear don't ruin the farm.
Narrative plan:
How I plan to tell this story is by possibly having some dialogue of the grandson throughout the game when he interacts with items. The background music will be upbeat since the grandson is happy to be there and help out. The sound effects such as collecting, or when bugs appear are not realistic as well. The art style is not realistic, therefore the sound effects should fit that style as well.
